I have been teaching meditation practice with Techo Vipassana technique since 2011. It has been over seven years from
then until today. I learnt this technique from Venerable Somdej Phra Puttajarn Toh Phrommarangsri, the highly respected
Buddhist monk who had lived in Siam 200 years ago. Somdej Toh communicated with me directly through mind-to mind
method. Before I started teaching the first course, I wrote a book to share my incredible experiences in Techo Vipassana
practice which had never been heard before as the experiences were the result of practicing the technique that directly
destroys impurities (kilesa) within the mind with fire element.

Back then, someone raised a question on the reason why the venerable monk Somdej Toh taught this technique to me
only while he had never been taught although he also had strong faith in Somdej Toh. I explained that such a powerful
technique in destroying kilesa could only be taught to someone with very strong determination and resolute mind proven
by continuous rigorous Vipassana training before. For myself, I had continued with great effort in the practice for six
years with almost 4,000 hours while still living with my family, working full-time and handling many responsibilities.

Communicating from my mind to the venerable Somdej Toh, I asked him why he taught me the knowledge in destroying
kilesa through the principle of atapi sampajano satima; to practice with persistence to burn down kilesa. He replied,
“Most of my students focused on worshipping amulets, not real monks. Whenever they came to me, they only asked to be
blessed with wealth or winning a lottery. I couldn’t find anyone so crazy about the practice, except you.”

Since then, it’s been over seven years that the path of Techo Vipassana has been bringing light to the mind of the seekers,
admirers, those with potential for liberation from the cycle of rebirth. These practitioners have successfully attained
different stages of enlightenment. Our practice has been the guiding light for everyone who wishes for freedom from the
cycle of rebirth and comes to practice with open mind. No matter who they are; rich or poor, smart or not so smart, or
even prisoners, they all found the light of freedom from the book “Techo Vipassana: Opening the Door to Nirvana”.

While I was sorting out scattered documents, I noticed a letter that I read some time ago. It was written on April 7, 2011,
sent from a prison seven years ago. Here’s what it said.

“I’m writing to you (Khun Acharavadee) to say thank you. Thank you. This is a sincere thank from a man who wants to
be a human being like you. I received your book from a donor. From your book, I saw some glimpse of light in the
darkness. I read it many times. Only this one book in my hand is more valuable than all books delivered in this round. It
is more valuable than diamond or gold. For someone like me who seeks a way to liberation, this is worth so much to me.
You should realize that Techo Vipassana is the guiding light for people living in the lowest part of the darkness and it’s
enough to show the way for us to walk.

Learning from your book while doing time in the prison, I understand something. That’s the reason I wrote to thank you
for the good opportunity I received from your teaching about the substance in the mind and the Knowing Mind.

7 years of Techo Vipassana and the nonaccidental incident led me to this letter which was written on the 7th
and sent to me 7 years ago.

For you who determine to do good things for others but then are criticized and slandered, please have sympathy for them
as they are too blind to know what truly good deeds are. They may not have any true friend to guide them to the bright
path. Although they live freely, their minds are locked up in the dark cave. That’s why they only think of doing bad
karma. Don’t give up in doing good for others. Keep doing good although no one values it because we don’t do it for
others to love us. But we do it because we have love for others.
Thanks to everyone who does all good deeds for the society. Keep going because it makes our life as a human
worthwhile. How can we use our breath to only satisfy ourselves and pursue our own happiness while every inch on this
earth is full of suffering?

While we are living in freedom, many people are imprisoned in their own mind without any light shining on them. Even
though we can’t fully reach out to help, at least we can light up Dhamma in our mind so that the light gets brighter and
brighter until it shines through the solid wall and the mental wall, leading the waiting ones toward the way to freedom
from suffering. It is just like the book Techo Vipassana: Opening the Door to Nirvana, which has traveled to the dark
world to brighten it.

The way of Dhamma is often unexpected and full of surprises.
Therefore, no matter how the world goes, no matter how those who look at us from afar but never come close to witness
our path of true Dhamma and our dedicated work for Buddhism and the society think, I still continue with these good
deeds because I don’t do it for love from anyone.
But I do good deeds because I have love for others.

May all of you find your guiding light. I send my love and compassion to everyone who lives in the dark world and the
world that looked as if it was bright.

“โลกมืด โลกสว่าง”

อาจารย์สอนวิปัสสนาในเทคนิคเตโชวิปัสสนา โดยมีพระอาจารย์สมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์โต พรหมรังสี
ได้ส่งกระแสจิตจากธรรมบารมีของท่านมาสอนหลักวิธีการเผากิเลส นับแต่ปี 2554 จวบถึงวันนี้ก็ 7 ปีกว่าแล้ว
ก่อนที่จะสอนวิปัสสนาคอร์ส
แรกก็ได้เขียนหนังสือบอกเล่าประสบการณ์การภาวนาอันน่าอัศจรรย์ ในแบบที่ไม่เคยมีใครได้ยินได้ฟังมาก่อน
เพราะไม่เคยมีใครเข้าถึงเทคนิคการภาวนาแบบเผากิเลสตรงตัวเช่นนี้
..
เมื่อครั้งที่มีผู้กล่าวว่าทำไมพระอาจารย์สมเด็จโต มาสอนอาจารย์แต่เพียงผู้เดียว ทำไมตัวเองเป็นศิษย์แท้ๆ
จึงไม่เคยได้รับคำสอน อาจารย์ได้เคยกล่าวอธิบายไว้ว่า เทคนิคการประหารกิเลสที่ทรงอานุภาพเช่นนี้
ผู้ที่จะได้วิชาต้องมีจิตใจที่เด็ดเดี่ยวมั่นคง และพิสูจน์ตนด้วยการปฏิบัติวิปัสสนาอย่างยิ่งยวด
ก่อนที่จะได้รับกระแสจากพระอาจารย์สมเด็จโต อาจารย์ได้บากบั่นพากเพียรภาวนามา 6 ปีร่วม 4,000 ชั่วโมงทั้งๆ
ที่ยังเป็นฆราวาสมีกิจการงานมากมาย
..
เมื่อได้ตั้งกระแสจิตเรียนถามท่านว่า เหตุใดพระอาจารย์จึงเลือกมาถ่ายทอดวิชาเผากิเลสด้วยหลัก อาตาปี สัมปชาโน สติมา
พึงมีความเพียรเผากิเลสให้เร่าร้อนให้แก่ศิษย์ (ตัวอาจารย์) ท่านเมตตามีกระแสตอบว่า.. “
ศิษย์ของข้าส่วนใหญ่มุ่งบูชาพระผง มันไม่ค่อยบูชาพระ และส่วนมากมาไหว้ก็มีแต่ขอให้รวยกับขอให้ถูกหวยเท่านั้นเอง
หาคนบ้าปฏิบัติอย่างนี้ไม่ได้เลยต้องมาลงที่เอ็งนี่ไง….เจริญพร”

จากวันนั้นมาถึงวันนี้ นับเป็นเวลา 7 ปีกว่าแล้วที่สายธรรมเตโชวิปัสสนา ได้นำความสว่างไสวมาสู่ใจของผู้แสวงหา
ผู้ศรัทธา ผู้มีวาสนาต่อการหลุดพ้น จนมีผู้ปฏิบัติได้พบการพ้นทุกข์ทุกลำดับขั้น
สายธรรมได้เป็นแสงประทีปส่องทางให้แก่ผู้หวังการหลุดพ้นทุกคนที่เปิดใจโดยไร้อคติ ไม่ว่าบุคคลนั้นจะเป็นใคร
จะเป็นเศรษฐีหรือยาจก เป็นผู้ด้อยปัญญาทางโลกไปจนถึงผู้มากด้วยสติปัญญา แม้แต่ผู้ถูกพันธนาการต้องโทษอยู่ในเรือนจำ
ก็พบแสงสว่างแห่งการหลุดพ้นจากหนังสือ “เตโชวิปัสสนา…เปิดประตูนิพพาน”

ขณะที่กำลังรื้อจัดเก็บเอกสารที่กระจัดกระจาย
สายตาก็มาสะดุดกับจดหมายฉบับหนึ่งที่เคยเปิดอ่านมาแล้ว เมื่อมาดูอีกครั้งก็พบว่าเป็นจดหมายที่เขียนมาจากเรือนจำเมื่อ 7
ปีที่แล้ว ซึ่งเขียนเมื่อวันที่ 7 เดือนเมษายน 2554 ความว่า..

“ที่จดหมายมายังคุณอัจฉราวดี เพื่อแจ้งให้ทราบว่า ขอบคุณ ขอบคุณ ขอบคุณจริงๆ จากชายคนหนึ่ง
พึงอยากเป็นมนุษย์เช่นคุณบ้าง หนังสือของคุณมีผู้บริจาคส่งไปให้ผม ในความมืดมนทำให้พบแสงริบหรี่
ที่สาดส่องพอให้เห็นได้ จากหนังสือของคุณ ผมอ่านซ้ำไปซ้ำมาหลายเที่ยว เล่มเดียวในมือผมดีกว่าหนึ่งเที่ยวรถที่ขนมา..
มันมีค่ายิ่งกว่าหนึ่งเพชร หนึ่งทองคำ ของคนที่เขาเสาะหาจากการที่จะหลุดพ้น จากคนเป็นมนุษย์เช่นผม
มันจึงมีค่ามากมายสำหรับผม คุณน่าจะรู้ดีว่าต่ำที่สุดของคนในความมืด
พบซึ่งทางสว่างพอจะเดินไปได้บ้างในเตโชวิปัสสนา
การได้พบหนังสือของคุณไว้เป็นการเรียนรู้ ศึกษาในเรือนจำ ผมเข้าใจอะไรบางอย่าง จากหนังสือของคุณ
จึงเขียนมาขอบคุณโอกาสดีดีที่ผมได้รับ จากคำสอนคำเล่าที่เข้าถึง เนื้อหาของภายในจิตใจ จิตที่รู้จิตตน
แนะนำตัวเอง ผมชื่ออนันท์ (ขอสงวนนามสกุล) แดน 5 เรือนจำกลางระยอง”
…….
7 ปีของเตโชวิปัสสนา กับเหตุการณ์ที่ไม่บังเอิญ ทำให้ได้พบจดหมายที่ส่งมาเมื่อ 7 ปีที่แล้วซึ่งเขียนมาในวันที่ 7
..
สำหรับผู้ที่มุ่งมั่นทำความดีเพื่อผู้อื่น แล้วถูกจ้องจับผิดถูกใส่ร้ายป้ายสี ขอจงสงสารบุคคลเช่นนั้นไว้ให้มาก
เพราะเขามืดบอดเกินที่จะรู้จักการทำความดีที่แท้จริง เขาคงไม่มีกัลยาณมิตรใดชี้ทางสว่างให้เขา
แม้จะอยู่ในโลกที่เป็นอิสระ แต่จิตใจกลับถูกขังอยู่ในถ้ำที่มืดมิดจึงได้ทำแต่อกุศลกรรม
อย่าท้อถอยกับการทำความดีเพื่อคนอื่น แม้ทำแล้วไม่มีคนเห็นคุณค่า จงทำต่อไปเพราะ..เราไม่ได้ทำความดีเพื่อให้คนมารัก
แต่เราทำ เพราะเรามีความรักให้คนอื่น
ขอบคุณทุกความดีที่ทุกคนทำเพื่อสังคม ทำต่อไปนะ
เพราะคือการทำให้ความเป็นคนของเราสูงค่าสมกับการได้ชื่อว่าเป็นมนุษย์
เราจะหายใจเพียงเพื่อทำงานสนองตัณหาและแสวงหาแต่ความสุขอย่างเดียวได้อย่างไร
ในเมื่อโลกนั้นมีความทุกข์อันเกลื่อนกล่นไปทุกตารางเมตร
..
ในขณะที่เราเป็นผู้มีอิสระอยู่ข้างนอก มีคนอีกมากกำลังติดคุกในแดนใจและไม่มีแสงประทีปใดส่องไปถึงเขา
แม้ไม่สามารถยื่นมือออกไปช่วยได้อย่างเต็มที่ อย่างน้อยที่สุดช่วยกันจุดแสงแห่งธรรมให้สว่างในใจตน
แล้วแสงนั้นจะสว่างขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนทะลุกำแพงจริงและกำแพงใจ ไปสู่ผู้รอคอยให้ได้พบทางออกจากความทุกข์
เหมือนดั่งที่หนังสือเตโชวิปัสสนา..เปิดประตูนิพพาน ได้เดินทางไปสู่โลกมืดเพื่อไปจุดประทีป ณ ที่นั่น
ธรรมะนั้น มีวิธีจัดสรรที่เราคิดไม่ถึงเสมอ
เพราะเหตุนี้ ไม่ว่าโลกจะเป็นเช่นไร ไม่ว่าจะมีใครมองดูจากภายนอกโดยไม่เคยลงมาสัมผัสธรรมแท้อันเข้มแข็ง
และการอุทิศทำงานเพื่อพระศาสนาและสังคมของเราอย่างไร อาจารย์ก็ยังมุ่งมั่นทำความดีอยู่เช่นนี้
เพราะอาจารย์ไม่ได้ทำความดีเพื่อให้ใครมารัก
แต่อาจารย์ทำความดี เพราะอาจารย์มีความรักให้คนอื่น
..
ขอทุกคนได้พบแสงประทีปส่องทาง ขอส่งมอบความรักและความเมตตาให้แก่ทุกคน
ทั้งที่อยู่ในโลกมืดและในโลกที่ดูเหมือนสว่าง
