Words from Master

On the Mother’s Day, I received garlands, beautiful flowers, also a lot of savory dishes and desserts.

I consumed them until the eyes were so sore, I couldn’t finished them so I just ate them with my eyes. But it was a holiday, they can only distributed to a lesser extent. Thank you for the remembrance of everyone who has been involved here. Wishing you to receive multiple merits.

On this weekend, I wouldn’t write a post. Because I’m going to meditate and visiting students in Phuket. To meditate on the occasion of establishing the new meditation retreat there, and to radiate all the water-being, large or small animals live in the ocean, to be well and happy. Knowing that a lot of students are going to this occasion. The Southern students must taking a tough role in organizing the schedule, taking care of the preparations, welcoming both senior and junior students who are coming for a grand outdoor gathering. I would like to thank the Phuket students team who actively spare their time in advance planning and preparing for this occasion. Wishing fo a smooth traveling, the meditation event and other schedules are success in all respects.

As you know, Phuket is the well known main tourist destination. I used to visit the students and to radiate all the water-being to be well and happy here 5 years ago. My very first senior student of Techovipassana Meditation Group, Grandma Sakorn Vetslangkoon, is also a Phuket resident. So much that the time passed, I have to call her Grandma Sakorn. She is a talkative person with loud and clear Southern accent with no distortion. Feeling favorable with that kind of sincere voice.

Grandma Sakorn is Khun Monkol Vetslangkoon’s mother, who was also among the first senior student who joined the Group with his mother. At that time, there were less than 150 students. One​ day, Grandma Sakorn mentioned the Techo Retreat will have many people coming, so on and so forth as she know. On the last day in each course, I felt very warm and friendly as we talked. I can say she was a senior student that was very closed to me. But now, Grandma Sakorn has completely disappeared because she is not able to come to the course, only Khun Monkol who is a major force in Phuket does. He is the student who has devoted his time and dedication helping the Group from the very beginning. Many Phuket students unify together to participate continuously in Knowing Buddha Organization activities.

Five years ago, there were about 70 students joined the trip to Phuket. But this time, there are 400 students who are accompanying to meditate for accumulating the energy stream into the new Retreat here.

When we talk about marine lives, or marine animals, those are forgotten or mostly- forgotten creatures because their existence is invisible, blocked by a vast ocean. When we feel compassionate to all tiny and large animals, we mainly think of land animal and poultry but hardly do for submarine creatures. Their rebirth under the sea is enabled by causality and karmic result from the past life.

Everything has its cause. This article will sharpen your mind and test your analytical skill in cause and effect from the following questions: –

1. If the rebirth to be a marine animal results from karma in the past life, which karma cause the rebirth under the sea? Why not being aquatic animal that can be reminded of or being land animal or poultry that are visible?

2. Why Naga has to be reborn underwater or under the sea?

Assuming that you’ve done.

Before answering to no.1 question, I would like you to consider following my knowledge as follows: –

Three-fourths of the earth’s surface is water and one-fourths is land. Most of small and large creatures are born as aquatic animals. Some of them evolved from germ and bacteria in the air.

Being fed by water, food and sunlight, they have constantly evolved and further expanded into various types of families. For how long the world has evolved, those small and large creatures have also developed their physical bodies in harmony with environment and the way of cooking feeling.

The underwater animals have not yet been reborn as human or in upper class because they have no chance to make merits, just living a life following their own instinct for survival. No matter how many times they have died, they are still reborn as animal unless they are tired of their conditions and wish to be free from hardship or existing condition as well as grow morality in themselves.

They will definitely be developped to a larger-sized aquatic animal with ability to appear above water surface. Their evolution has been continued until they become a land animal and poultry which are more closer to human being. It can be said that amongst all of animals, land animal and poultry are given a better chance than other animals.

Buddha made a comparison to show that the rebirth to be human is rare. I would like to raise Buddha’s statement from Tipitika as follows-

“Monks, suppose that this earth were totally covered with water, and a man were to toss a yoke with a single hole there.

A wind from the east would push it west

A wind from the west would push it east

A wind from the north would push it south

A wind from the south would push it north.

And suppose a blind sea-turtle were there. It would come to the surface once every one hundred years. Now what do you think: would that blind sea-turtle, coming to the surface once every one hundred years, stick his neck into the yoke with a single hole?”

Monks replied “It would be an extremely rare , A Blessed one, that the blind sea-turtle would stick his neck into the yoke with a single hole.”

“It’s likewise a rare chance that one obtains the human state. It’s likewise a rare chance that a Tathagata( The Buddha uses it when referring to himself), worthy & rightly self-awakened, arises in the world. It’s likewise a sheer coincidence that a doctrine & discipline expounded by a Tathagata appears in the world. Now, this human state has been obtained. A Tathagata, worthy & rightly selfawakened, has arisen in the world. A doctrine & discipline expounded by a Tathagata appears in the world.

“Therefore your duty is the contemplation: ‘This is suffering (Dukkha), this is the cause of suffering ( Samudaya), this is how that cause can be stopped ( Nirodha), and this is the way leading to the cessation of suffering (Magga)”

Because the living things require very long time, which is incalculable ,to accumulate enough wholesome deeds chance. To be born as a human being is actually much difficult and because of their some morality, they then gain human condition. Even one who is considered as a worst man , but there is some goodness one way or another that embedded in his mind

Being human is the great chance but we have never thought that it is a chance. This is because of the impurity in human’s mind . We will never know the value of chance until it becomes a memory.

While many beings, even devas long for rebirth on the human plane, but humans wish to be a bird, merely see the bird flying free. Little does humans know that bird in the vast sky may be caught by a hawk, bird’s nest might be stolen by human , or be attacked by fierce animals. Nevertheless, humans still laments his fate.

Now, I will answer the first question.

Regarding Karma, some beings, including those who were humans, will be reborn to be sea animals due to two kinds of Karma:

1. They failed to appreciate beings, things, or even the nature which benefited them.

2. They failed both to observe precepts and to do their duty. That is, they lived their lives arbitrarily.

They failed to think that every being must have a duty to benefit oneself and others.

I read the history of the Aboriginal people, whom the Caucasian people consider barbarians. In fact, the Aboriginal people are very virtuous. They respect and appreciate the nature. In contrast, humans who failed to appreciate anyone will gain retribution by being reborn to be forgotten beings under the ocean. It is hard that anyone will think about such beings because the gigantic ocean hinders the perception of those living on the land.

About those who committed a sin and failed to do their duty, only failing to do their duty does not lead to being reborn to be sea animals. However, those who committed a sin and also habitually failed to do their duty, such as a kid whose duty is to take care of parents and a person whose duty is to bring about prosperity to the land, but lived their lives under the control of Kilesa by seeking happiness and neglecting their duty will be drawn in the cycle of rebirth to be born in the forgotten land: under the water.

Both kinds of Karma can be explained in concrete in the story of Kapila Monk, who learned a lot of Dhamma but did not practice Vipassana meditation to purify his mind. As he could remember and recite the Tripitaka fluently, he was deluded with offerings from people. He behaved improperly and verbally abused well-disciplined monks, causing the decline in Buddhism in the era of Kassapa Buddha. Due to such Karma, after he died, he went to the hell. Subsequently, in the era of Guatama Buddha, he was reborn to be a goldfish with bad breath living in the Irrawaddy River. Because of the Karma, the fish also committed suicide by hitting his head with a boat. After death, he went to the hell again. Buddha explained to people the Karma of the goldfish with bad breath. To be gold resulted from the good Karma of teaching Dhamma from the Tripitaka. Nevertheless, bad breath resulted from his words disdaining Dhamma and Dhamma rules. In sum, Kapila Monk became the goldfish with bad breath because he failed both to appreciate Buddha’s boundless compassion and to do his duty. Therefore, he had pitiful Karma.

Under the sea, there are not only beautiful clownfish as seen in documentary film but also lots of ugly big fish. Thus, I write this story to let you observe and consider the cause of Karma.

Part 2: Why do Nagas are born under the water world?

Naga do not obtain body like human, born in the world of spirits not in heaven realm but higher than hell. The reason for being under the sea or underwater world is because the original form (past lives) was from serpents that became weary of its form and wanted to be free and able to lift up the virtues. Until they died from that form, with the accumulation of ravage flame full of anger and envy causing them to unable to reincarnate in the heaven realm and thus maintain in the underwater world to let water element purify the ravage flame inside the soul similar to a station to transfer poison fire with the coolness of water. From then they will be able to lift to a higher realm by becoming born to human.

No matter how the Nagas can keep the virtues and observe the precepts whenever they are angry, it is doomed. Nothing can alleviate the heat better than water. It can be say that nature either in mundane or the astral world, there are ways to keep the balance or to correct the problems with ingenious methods beyond those who are not yet wise to understand.

All this writing may not be heard from anywhere before, so no need to believe and just keep it in consideration. But what I want you to believe is the teachings of Lord Buddha that getting to be born as human is extremely difficult. Being born human having Buddha and his teachings for soul sanctuary is extremely difficult. Be aware of such fine opportunity.

Truly, our lives are full of opportunities but we just didn’t see them.

In time to share merits to the aquatic life will be a grand opportunity that the Dhamma army full of great compassion and well vipassana practitioners according to each own strength will gather to meditate, share the merits and opening the biggest time of grand opportunity for them.

Astonishingly they really waiting for us and deserved after 5 years of waiting because this time we come like an army. The power of meditation and sharing merits will be even greater and thus is the grand opportunity for them, the forgotten ones…

While I was taking my daughter to take passport pictures, there were an officials from SOS Children’s Villages Thailand gave out flyers introduced about their donation project for orphanages that this foundation had support more 700 lives. However, I was in a rush and said in short sentence that “I already knew and used to make some donation. May I contribute it right now?” Officials said “No, the foundation do not receive money from donation box but prefer monthly or yearly payment in form of credit card at least for 2 years. So that we will know how much money is supplying our operation.”

Then, they gave a flyer and asked “What do you think these children will want?” Choices were

foods, snacks, toys, ice-creams, houses, education, chances, and others. They chose education but I said “Opportunity”

As if they have their chance, all will follow.

At the end, I spent time fill-in information for donation once again, just to give encourage for them who volunteer to do good deed, show support to the foundation and a chance to children who are waiting.

When I was leaving, officials paid me their respect. It seemed like 7 minutes of talking and filling in the form were very meaningful. I wanted to say to them that

“Thank you for giving me a chance to do this merit.

Thank you for you are being here and continue to do so. Though, there are little people see that it is a chance to make merit and sharing, don’t be discourage. As it is the way things are.

In maya world, to make merit is the last thing to do and see those who made offer are irritating. But this logic can’t be crowded to those who already see everything thoroughly

Love is in the Air, Opportunity is in the Air

It depends that we can feel it or not

On Saturday, August 17th, we will spread out our love and opportunity into the sea. Those who can’t join our journey be welcome to meditate with us on Saturday at 4pm and said your pray

“Whatever wishes that Master and all her students had made shall be the same wishes as mine from any virtues and merits that I made from this mediation.”

We bring back beautiful photos as souvenir and something that could not explain in all word.

‘โอกาสที่ถูกลืม’​

ถ้อยคำจากท่านอาจารย์

เมื่อวันแม่ อาจารย์ได้รับพวงมาลัยและดอกไม้งามตระการ อีกทั้งอาหาร คาวหวานมากมาย บริโภคจนตาแฉะ คือมีเยอะมากจนบริโภคไม่หมดต้องรับประทานเป็นอาหารตาแทน ด้วยเป็นวันหยุดก็จำแนกแจกจ่ายออกไปได้น้อย ขอขอบใจในความระลึกถึงของทุกคนที่มีส่วนร่วมมา ณ ที่นี้ ขอให้รับอานิสงค์เพิ่มทวีคูณ

ในวันสุดสัปดาห์นี้คงไม่ได้เขียนโพสต์ เพราะจะไปภาวนาที่ภูเก็ตกับเหล่าศิษย์ โดยไปเยี่ยมเยียนศิษย์ภูเก็ต ไปภาวนาเพื่อการเริ่มต้นสำหรับการสร้างธรรมสถานที่นั้นและไปแผ่เมตตาให้ชาวน้ำ หรือสรรพสัตว์น้อยใหญ่ที่อยู่ใต้มหาสมุทร ทราบมาว่ามีศิษย์เดินทางไปร่วมงานกันมาก ศิษย์ทางใต้ต้องรับบทหนักในการจัด โปรแกรมทั้งดูแลงานและการต้อนรับศิษย์พี่ศิษย์น้องที่จะไปรวมตัวกันครั้งมโหฬารนอกสถานที่ อาจารย์ขอขอบใจทีมศิษย์ภูเก็ตที่วางแผนงานกันอย่างแข็งขันและเตรียมงานยาวนาน ขอให้การเดินทางราบรื่น งานภาวนาและในกำหนดอื่นๆ ประสบความสำเร็จทุกประการ

ภูเก็ตเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวหลักอย่างที่ทราบดี อาจารย์เคยไปเยี่ยมเยียนศิษย์และไปแผ่เมตตาให้ชาวน้ำเมื่อ 5 ปีก่อน โดยศิษย์อาวุโสคนแรกสุดของสายธรรมเตโชวิปัสสนาคือ คุณยายสาคร เวทสรางกูร ก็เป็นคนภูเก็ต บัดนี้วัยล่วงเลยไปมากจนต้องเรียกว่าคุณยาย คุณยายสาครเป็นคนพูดเก่ง เสียงดัง ฟังชัด สำเนียงใต้ไม่มีผิดเพี้ยนสักองศา ฟังแล้วชอบใจรู้สึกจริงใจดี

คุณยายสาคร เป็นคุณแม่ของคุณมงคล เวทสรางกูร ผู้เป็นศิษย์รุ่นแรกที่ได้พาคุณแม่มาอบรมด้วย ยามนั้นธรรมมีศิษย์อยู่ไม่ถึง 150 คน วันนึงคุณยายสาครก็บอกว่า อีกหน่อยที่เตโชสถานแห่งนี้จะมีคนมากันมากมาย และก็บอกกล่าวอะไรไปตามที่คุณยายรู้เห็นไปตามประสา ในแต่ละคอร์สมีความอบอุ่นได้พูดคุย ในวันสุดท้ายอย่างเป็นกันเอง กล่าวได้ว่าเป็นศิษย์อาวุโส ที่มีความสนิทสนมกับอาจารย์มาก แต่ตอนนี้หายสนิทแล้วเพราะคุณยายสาครเดินทางมาภาวนาไม่ไหวแล้ว มีอยู่ก็แต่คุณมงคล ที่เป็นกำลังสำคัญที่ภูเก็ต และเป็นศิษย์ที่แบ่งเวลาอุทิศตนช่วยงานให้สายธรรมมาตั้งแต่เริ่มต้น ศิษย์ภูเก็ตมีจำนวนไม่น้อยและสามารถรวมตัวกันทำกิจกรรมของโนอิ้งบุดด้า อย่างเนืองๆ

เมื่อ 5 ปีที่แล้วที่ไปเยี่ยมภูเก็ต มีศิษย์ติดตามไปสมทบราวๆ 70 กว่าคนเห็นจะได้ แต่คราวนี้มีศิษย์ร่วมสมทบไปภาวนาเป็นทุนสะสมพลังไว้ในธรรมสถานที่ภูเก็ตถึง 400 คน

กล่าวถึงชาวน้ำ คือสัตว์น้ำใต้ทะเลนั้น คือสิ่งมีชีวิตที่ถูกลืมหรือมักถูกลืม เพราะถูกผืนน้ำมหาศาลปิดกั้นการมีอยู่ของพวกเขา เวลาเรามีจิตเมตตาสงสารสัตว์น้อยใหญ่ โดยมากก็มักจะนึกถึงแต่สัตว์บกกับสัตว์ปีก แต่สัตว์น้ำใต้ท้องทะเลน้อยนักที่จะนึกถึงลงไปได้ การที่สรรพสัตว์น้อยใหญ่ไปเกิดใต้ท้องทะเล ก็เป็นด้วยเหตุและปัจจัย ซึ่งก็มีทั้งจากบุพกรรมเดิมด้วย

เมื่อทุกสิ่งเกิดแต่เหตุ บทความครานี้ขอลับสมองหรือทดสอบความคิดพิจารณาเหตุและปัจจัยของศิษย์ดูทีด้วยคำถามา

1. หากแม้นการไปเกิดเป็นสัตว์ใต้ท้องทะเล เกิดจากวิบากกรรม คิดว่า ด้วยวิบากกรรมใด จึงทำให้ดวงจิตต้องไปเกิดใต้ท้องทะเล? ไม่ไปเกิดเป็นสัตว์แม่น้ำที่พอระลึกถึงได้ หรือเป็นสัตว์บก หรือสัตว์มีปีกอื่นๆ ที่มองเห็นได้

2. เหตุใด พญานาค จึงต้องไปเกิดใต้ท้องน้ำหรือใต้ท้องมหาสมุทร?

….

สมมติว่าคิดเสร็จแล้ว

ก่อนจะเฉลยข้อ 1 ขอกล่าวให้พิจารณาตามความรู้ของอาจารย์ดังนี้

ด้วยโลกนี้มีธาตุน้ำ 3 ส่วนดิน 1 ส่วน สิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งน้อยใหญ่ จึงได้อัตภาพเป็นสัตว์น้ำจำนวนมาก บางจำพวกก็พัฒนามาจากเชื้อโรค แบคทีเรียต่างๆ ที่อยู่ในอากาศ เมื่อได้รับน้ำ รับอาหาร รับแสงแดด ก็พัฒนากายสังขารไปเรื่อยจนแตกออกพงษ์พันธุ์ต่างๆ มากมาย โลกมีพัฒนาการมากี่ล้านปี สัตว์น้อยใหญ่ก็พัฒนากายสังขาร ไปตามสภาวะแวดล้อมและการปรุงแต่งอารมณ์

สัตว์ใต้น้ำที่ยังไม่สามารถได้อัตภาพมนุษย์หรือได้มีภพที่สูงกว่าเดิม เพราะไม่มีโอกาสได้สร้างบุญบารมี ได้แต่อยู่ไปตามสัญชาติญาณเพื่อการอยู่รอดของตนเท่านั้น ตายไปกี่ครั้งก็เกิดเป็นสัตว์อยู่นั่น จนกว่าสัตว์เหล่านี้จะเกิดความเบื่อหน่ายในอัตภาพของตน ปรารถนาอยากพ้นทุกข์หรือพ้นจากสภาพที่ตนเป็นอยู่ และได้พัฒนาคุณธรรมในตนขึ้นมา เขาก็ย่อมได้รับพัฒนาการขึ้นมา เป็นสัตว์น้ำที่มีร่างกายใหญ่ขึ้น สามารถขึ้นมาอยู่โผล่พ้นน้ำได้บ้าง ไปจนถึงพัฒนาเป็นสัตว์บกกับสัตว์ปีก ที่เข้าใกล้ความเป็นมนุษย์ยิ่งขึ้น

กล่าวได้ว่าในบรรดาสัตว์ด้วยกัน สัตว์บกกับสัตว์ปีกเป็นสัตว์ที่ได้รับโอกาสมากกว่าสัตว์อื่นๆ

พระพุทธองค์ทรงเปรียบเทียบว่า การได้อัตภาพความเป็นมนุษย์นั้น เป็นของยาก ขอยกความจาก ฉิคคฬสูตร ที่ ๒ มหา. สํ. (๑๗๔๔)ดังนี้

“ดูก่อนภิกษุทั้งหลาย เปรียบเหมือนว่ามหาปฐพีนี้กลายเป็นน่านน้ำอันเดียวกัน บุรุษพึงโยนแอก (ห่วง) มีช่องเดียวไปในน้ำนั้น

ลมในทิศตะวันออก พึงพัดเอาแอกนั้นไปทางทิศตะวันตก

ลมทิศตะวันตกพัดเอาไปทางทิศตะวันออก

ลมทิศเหนือพัดเอาไปทางทิศใต้

ลมทิศใต้พัดเอาไปทางทิศเหนือ เต่าตาบอดในห้วงน้ำนั้นจะโผล่ขึ้นมาหนึ่งครั้งทุก ๆ ระยะเวลาผ่านไปหนึ่งร้อยปี เธอจะเห็นข้อนั้นอย่างไร?…เต่าตาบอดนั้น…จะมีโอกาสสอดคอเข้าไปในแอกช่องเดียวนั้นบ้างหรือไม่”

ภิกษุทั้งหลายกราบทูลว่า “การที่เต่าจะมีโอกาสสอดคอเข้าไปในแอกที่มีช่องเดียวนั้น เป็นของยาก” ดูก่อนภิกษุทั้งหลาย การได้ความเป็นมนุษย์เป็นของยาก การที่พระตถาคตอรหันตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า จะอุบัติขึ้นในโลก เป็นของยาก​ การที่พระธรรมวินัยที่พระตถาคตประกาศแล้วจะรุ่งเรืองในโลก ก็เป็นของยาก“ ดูก่อนภิกษุทั้งหลาย บัดนี้เธอได้ความเป็นมนุษย์แล้ว พระตถาคตอรหันตสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า อุบัติขึ้นในโลกแล้ว และพระธรรมวินัยที่พระตถาคตประกาศแล้ว ก็เจริญรุ่งเรืองอยู่ในโลก เพราะฉะนั้นเธอทั้งหลาย พึงกระทำความเพียรเพื่อรู้ตามความเป็นจริงว่า มีทุกข์ นี้สมุทัย นี้นิโรธ นี้อริยมรรคมีองค์ ๘ ”.

เพราะสิ่งมีชีวิตต้องใช้เวลานานมากจนไม่อาจคำนวณได้ว่า นานเท่าใดจึงจะสะสมบุญกุศลเพียงพอจนเข้าถึงความเป็นมนุษย์ได้ เพราะมนุษย์คือผู้ที่ได้ยกคุณธรรมในจิตขึ้นมาบ้างแล้ว จึงได้อัตภาพนี้ แม้ในผู้ที่คิดว่าเลวที่สุด แต่เขาก็ย่อมมีความดีใดความดีหนึ่งที่ฝังอยู่ในจิตใจ การเป็นมนุษย์จึงคือภพภูมิแห่งมหาโอกาส ที่เราไม่คิดว่าคือโอกาส เพราะนิสัยมนุษย์ผู้ยังมีกิเลส เมื่อได้สิ่งใดมาแล้ว ก็มองไม่เห็นคุณค่าของสิ่งนั้น จนกว่าจะสูญเสียโอกาสนั้นไป

สัตว์น้อยใหญ่ และแม้แต่เทวดาทั้งหลาย ก็อยากได้ความเป็นมนุษย์ แต่มนุษย์กลับอยากเป็นนก เพียงเพราะเห็นว่าบินได้โดยอิสระ แต่หารู้ไม่ว่าบนท้องฟ้านภากาศที่กว้างใหญ่ นกที่โผบินนั้น จะถูกเหยี่ยวโฉบไปเมื่อไหร่ รังที่ทำอยู่จะถูกมนุษย์ขโมยไปต้มกิน ถูกสัตว์ร้ายมาฉกไปเมื่อไหร่ แม้กระนั้น มนุษย์ก็ยังคร่ำครวญ ถึงโชคชะตาของตนอยู่ดี

พรรณนามายาวมาก ยังไม่ได้ตอบคำถามเลย

ทีนี้ส่วนของคำตอบข้อแรก

ส่วนในเชิงบุพกรรม สำหรับสิ่งมีชีวิตบางจำพวกรวมถึงผู้ที่เคยได้ความเป็นมนุษย์มาแล้ว ต่อเมื่อประกอบอกุศลกรรม ทำให้ไปเกิดเป็นสัตว์น้ำใต้ทะเลก็ด้วยวิบากกรรมสองประการ

1.การเป็นผู้ไม่ตระหนักคิดถึงบุญคุณของผู้มีพระคุณ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นสิ่งมีชีวิต หรือธรรมชาติ

2.การเป็นผู้ผิดศีลและละเลยต่อหน้าที่ของตน กล่าวคือใช้ชีวิตตามใจชอบ ไม่คำนึงว่าทุกชีวิตมีหน้าที่ที่ต้องดำรงตนให้เป็นประโยชน์แก่ตนเองและผู้อื่น

อาจารย์ได้เคยอ่านประวัติของพวกอินเดียนแดง ที่คนผิวขาวกล่าวว่าเป็นคนป่าคนเถื่อน แต่จริงๆ เขามีคุณธรรมสูงส่ง เขาเป็นผู้เคารพและรำลึกถึงบุญคุณของธรรมชาติ ส่วนผู้ที่ได้ความเป็นมนุษย์บางจำพวก แต่กลับไม่มีจิตสำนึกรำลึกถึงพระคุณของผู้ใดเลย เมื่อเขาลืมบุญคุณของผู้มีพระคุณ จึงเกิดเป็นวิบากกรรมทำให้เขาได้สังขารของการเป็นผู้ที่ถูกลืมอยู่ใต้ท้องมหาสมุทร ยากที่จะมีใครระลึกนึกถึง เพราะผืนน้ำอันมหาศาลปิดกั้นการรับรู้ของผู้อยู่บนดิน

2.การเป็นผู้ประกอบกรรมและละเลยในหน้าที่ของตน

คือ หากละเลยในหน้าที่ของตนอย่างเดียวก็คงไม่ถึงกับต้องไปเกิดเป็นสัตว์น้ำใต้ทะเล แต่หากเป็นผู้ประกอบอกุศลกรรมด้วยและมีอุปนิสัยละเลยหน้าที่ หรือไม่รู้หน้าที่ของตนเช่น ลูก มีหน้าที่ในการดูแลบิดามารดา พสกนิกรมีหน้าที่ในการช่วยนำความเจริญรุ่งเรืองมาสู่แผ่นดิน หากบุคคลได้แต่ใช้ชีวิตตามใจกิเลส หาแต่ความสุขโดยไม่สนใจในการทำหน้าที่อันใดเลย ด้วยบุพกรรมนี้ ก็จะถูกดูดด้วยกระแสของวัฏจักรให้ตกไปอยู่ในที่ๆถูกลืม คือ ไปอยู่ใต้ผืนน้ำ

ทั้งสองกรรมนี้ สามารถอธิบายให้เห็นเป็นรูปธรรมในเรื่องบุพกรรมของพระกปิละ ผู้ศึกษาปริยัติธรรมมาก แต่ไม่ได้ปฏิบัติวิปัสสนาชำระจิตให้บริสุทธิ์ เมื่อสามารถท่องจำพระไตรปิฏกได้ ก็เกิดหลงลาภสักการะ ทำสิ่งที่ไม่สมควรแก่เพศสมณะ ก้าวล่วงพระภิกษุผู้ปฏิบัติดี และทำให้พระศาสนาของพระกัสสปะพุทธเจ้าเสื่อมลง ด้วยบุพกรรมนี้ เมื่อตายไปพระกปิละได้ไปเกิดในนรกอเวจี จนในพุทธันดรพระพุทธเจ้าโคดม ก็เกิดเป็นปลาทองปากเหม็นอยู่ที่แม่น้ำอจิรวดี ด้วยอำนาจแห่งกรรมก็ทำให้ปลาทองปากเหม็น เอาหัวฟาดเรือฆ่าตัวตายแล้วตกไปอยู่ในนรกอเวจีอีก พระพุทธองค์ได้ทรงกล่าวถึงบุพกรรมเดิมของปลาทองปากเหม็นให้มหาชนทั้งหลายได้สดับฟัง การที่ได้มีสีทองก็เพราะกรรมดีที่สอนธรรมจากพระไตรปิฏก แต่ที่มีปากเหม็นก็เพราะใช้วาจาหมิ่นธรรม และหมิ่นพระธรรมวินัย

จึงเห็นได้ว่า บุพกรรมที่ทำให้พระกปิละไปเกิดในนรกอเวจี และต่อมาเป็นปลาปากทองปากเหม็น เพราะไม่ตระหนักถึงพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของพระบรมศาสดา และละเลยหน้าที่ของตน จึงต้องประสบวิบากกรรมอันน่าสลดสังเวช

ที่ใต้ท้องทะเลนั้น ใช่ว่าจะมีแต่ปลาการ์ตูนสวยงามเหมือนเวลาดูสารคดีท่องเที่ยว ปลาตัวใหญ่โตหน้าตาน่าเกลียดมีให้เห็นก็มาก

ที่เขียนมานี้ก็เพื่อให้เป็นข้อสังเกต ถึงเหตุผลต้นกรรมไว้ให้พิจารณา

ส่วนที่ 2 ทำไมพญานาคต้องไปเกิดใต้เมืองบาดาล

พญานาคไม่ได้มีกายเนื้อแบบมนุษย์ เป็นภพภูมิของโลกวิญญาณ ไม่ใช่เป็นภูมิเทวโลกแต่สูงกว่านรกภูมิ เหตุที่ต้องไปจุติยังใต้มหาสมุทรหรือเมืองบาดาล ก็เป็นด้วยสังขารเดิมนั้นมาจากอสรพิษ ที่เบื่อหน่ายในสังขารและอยากพ้นทุกข์และยกคุณธรรมของตนขึ้นมา จนเมื่อตายจากภพภูมินั้นด้วยสังขารที่สะสมไฟแห่งความโกรธ ความริษยา อันร้อนรุ่มเหมือนเพลิงผลาญไว้มาก จึงไม่สามารถขึ้นไปจุติในที่สูงคือเทวโลกได้ ต้องมาอยู่ในเมืองบาดาลเพื่อให้ธาตุน้ำ ชำระความร้อนดั่งไฟผลาญที่ฝังอยู่ในจิตสังขารเสียก่อน เปรียบเหมือนเป็นสถานีถ่ายพิษแห่งไฟด้วยกระแสเย็น จากนั้นจึงยกภพภูมิให้สูงยิ่งขึ้นด้วยการได้สังขารเป็นมนุษย์

เหล่าพญานาค แม้ว่ารักษาศีลบำเพ็ญธรรมอย่างไร แต่เมื่อโกรธขึ้นมาเมื่อใดก็บรรลัยเมื่อนั้น อะไรจะดับร้อนได้ดีเท่าน้ำ กล่าวได้ว่า ธรรมชาติไม่ว่าจะในโลกที่มองเห็นด้วยตาเนื้อ หรือโลกทิพย์ มีวิธีรักษาสมดุลหรือแก้ไขปัญหาต่างๆ ได้ด้วยวิถีที่แยบยล เกินกว่าที่ผู้ที่ปัญญายังไม่แจ้งจะเข้าใจได้

ที่เขียนมาทั้งหมดนี้ อาจไม่เคยได้ยินได้ฟังมาจากที่ใด ก็ไม่ต้องเชื่อ แค่รู้ไว้พิจารณา แต่สิ่งที่อยากให้เชื่อก็คือ คำสอนของพระบรมศาสดาเถิดว่า การได้อัตภาพความเป็นมนุษย์นั้น ได้แสนยาก การได้เกิดมามีพระบรมศาสดาเป็นที่พึ่ง ได้มีพระธรรมคำสอนเป็นที่พึ่ง นั้นแสนยาก พึงตระหนักในมหาโอกาสนี้ให้มาก

จริงๆ แล้ว ชีวิตของเราเต็มไปด้วยโอกาส แต่เรามองไม่เห็นเอง

ในกาลที่จะได้ไปแผ่เมตตาให้แก่ชาวน้ำนี้ นับเป็นมหาโอกาสแก่ชาวน้ำครั้งใหญ่ ที่กองทัพธรรมผู้มีจิตที่เปี่ยมด้วยความเมตตากรุณา ได้ฝึกฝนปฏิบัติวิปัสสนากรรมฐานมาตามกำลังของจิต จะไปร่วมกันภาวนาและแผ่เมตตาให้แก่ชาวน้ำครั้งใหญ่ที่สุด น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจ พวกเขารอเราอยู่จริงๆ สมควรแก่การให้รออีก 5 ปี เพราะการมาในครั้งนี้มาแบบกองทัพธรรม พลังในการภาวนาและแผ่เมตตาย่อมมากกว่ามาก และนี่คือมหาโอกาสแก่พวกเขา ผู้ถูกลืม..

เมื่อวันก่อน ขณะที่อาจารย์กำลังเดินพาลูกสาวไปถ่ายรูปทำพาสปอร์ตที่ห้าง มีเจ้าหน้าที่มูลนิธิโสสะ ยื่นเอกสารขอให้รับฟังโครงการที่มาขอรับบริจาคเงินเพื่อนำเงินไปเลี้ยงดูเด็กกำพร้า ที่มูลนิธิอุปถัมถ์อยู่กว่า 700 ชีวิต ด้วยอารามที่จะรีบไปรีบกลับ อาจารย์กล่าวสั้นๆว่า ไม่ขอฟังได้มั้ย เพราะรู้จักและเคยทำบุญให้มูลนิธิอยู่แล้ว ขอสมทบทุนให้ตรงนี้เลยได้มั้ย เจ้าหน้าที่อาสาบอกว่า “ไม่ได้ครับ มูลนิธิไม่รับเงินบริจาคลงกล่อง แต่อยากให้บริจาคกับบัตรเครดิตเป็นรายเดือนหรือรายปี อย่างน้อย 2 ปีเพื่อมูลนิธิจะได้รู้ว่า จะสามารถมีเม็ดเงินในการทำงานเท่าไหร่” แล้วเขายื่นแผ่นคำถามให้เราช่วยตอบว่า คิดว่า เด็กๆ จะต้องการอะไร? ในแผ่นคำถามก็มีคำตอบว่า อาหาร ขนม ของเล่น ไอศกรีม บ้าน การศึกษา โอกาส ฯลฯ น้องตอบว่า การศึกษา แต่อาจารย์ตอบว่า โอกาส เพราะหากเขาได้รับโอกาส ทั้งหมดจะตามมาเอง

สุดท้าย อาจารย์สละเวลาลงนั่งกรอกข้อมูลทำบุญกับมูลนิธิอีกครั้งนึง เพื่อเป็นกำลังใจแก่เด็กที่อาสามาทำความดี เพื่อเป็นกำลังใจให้แก่มูลนิธิ และเพื่อให้โอกาสแก่เด็กกำพร้าที่รอความหวัง

เมื่อจะลุกจากไป เจ้าหน้าที่ก็ไหว้ขอบคุณอย่างสวยงาม ราวกับว่าเวลาประมาณ 7 นาทีที่ได้คุยและกรอกข้อมูลบริจาค มีความหมายกับเขามากเหลือเกิน อาจารย์อยากบอกกับเขาว่า

“ขอบคุณที่ให้โอกาสเราได้ทำบุญ

ขอบคุณที่ออกมาทำสิ่งนี้ ขอให้ทำต่อไป แม้จะมีคนเพียงน้อยนิดมองเห็นว่านี่คือโอกาสในการทำกุศล โอกาสแห่งการแบ่งปัน อย่าเสียกำลังใจ เพราะโลกก็ย่อมเป็นเช่นนี้

โลกของกิเลสมายา มักให้ความสำคัญในการทำกุศลเป็นเรื่องท้ายๆ และมองเห็นว่าผู้หยิบยื่นโอกาสให้ทำกุศล เป็นบุคคลน่ารำคาญ แต่หลักคิดนี้ ใช้ไม่ได้กับผู้ที่มองเห็นโลกทะลุปรุโปร่งแล้ว”

ความรักอยู่ในสายลม เช่นเดียวกับโอกาส ขึ้นอยู่กับว่าเราจะสัมผัสสิ่งนี้ได้หรือไม่

ในวันเสาร์ที่ 17 สิงหาคมนี้ เราจะไปโปรยความรักและโอกาสไว้ในทะเล สำหรับผู้ที่ไม่ได้ร่วมเดินทางไปด้วย เชิญร่วมภาวนาวันเสาร์ตอนราวๆ 4 โมงเย็น และปิดท้ายอธิษฐานว่า “ท่านอาจารย์และเหล่าศิษย์อธิษฐานเช่นใด ข้าพเจ้าขอให้อานิสงค์แห่งบุญที่ข้าพเจ้าภาวนาในวาระนี้ มีส่วนในคำอธิษฐานนั้นด้วยเถิด”

แล้วจะเก็บภาพสวยๆ มาฝากพร้อมกับบางสิ่งที่ไม่อาจบรรยายได้หมด
