Dharamshala to have Buddha theme park

Dharamshala: Known across the globe as a place of Buddhist pilgrimage place due to the exiled seat of the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, here, the town will soon have a mega Buddha theme park. The authorities are searching for a spot to acquire 300 kanals in one of the the suburbs of this hill town. One of the proposed site is at Khaniyara area of this region.
As per the project report, the place will have a space for hosting thousand of persons, along with their stay and meals. This park will also have a convention and Buddhist research centres. It will be the biggest of its kind in the state.

Funds of around Rs 80 crore will be allocated for this project by Asian Development Bank. Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, deputy commissioner, Kangra, has confirmed that efforts are under way in this regard and revenue teams have also visited the proposed site.
